WelshHelen's December progress

Here's December:

so a couple more motifs have been stitched since November:

Slow, but getting there :-)

I hope that everyone had a lovely Christmas and a happy and healthy 2011 to you all.

Important - Please read.

Posting - Please, you can post anytime in the month after the 2nd. If you only work on this piece for one day on the first day of every month then that is fine - just wait till the 2nd to post pictures. You must post each month's progress by the last day of the month. Only then will you be eligible for entering the draw at the end of the year. You need to post up ten progress posts - ten out of all twelve months (at least) to be entered for the draw.

A progress post must contain two images - one before and one after picture

. Please title your post with "Rachael's Progress" for example and use the labelling feature to label it "January 2010 progress" "February2010 progress" etc... Hopefully this will keep things as simple as possible for all of us and for me in particular when listing people in the sidebar. I will leave listings to the end of the month but if you think I have missed you off then please email me and let me know. I can and very often do make mistakes unfortunately.

Please keep blog posts about the design only. If you wish to share anything else then please make use of your own blogs. This is just to keep it uncluttered and make it easier for me to to do the listings at the end of the month.

Thanks for understanding. If you need any help with anything or are unsure about anything then please email me.

It's a Wrap!

Above is Miss Potter at the end of October. Below is the final photo. She is done! I finished the last personalization just tonight and I am happy dancing all over the place! I won't have to go into a 3rd year! Unfortunately it is after 8:00 pm and the picture could be much better.

Started January 1, 2009 and finished November 30, 2010. Thank you all for the support and encouragement over the last 23 months! If I can do it, you certainly can too.

Rachael's October Progress

Looks like I will be doing this next year as well!

Sorry for not being around Ladies, Real life sometimes gets in the way, I will update the side bar, I hope you all have managed to stitch this month, I have!! I will update tomorrow as I need to upload the photo.

Helen's October Update

First of all, congratulations to all of you who have finished! It's amazing how different one design can look on various fabrics and colourways.

I've finally finished the border and have now introduced some more shades of blue, though I'm not too sure of the brighter one I've used for that larger motif - ah, well, I'm not going to frog it and may just limit its use to one or two more motifs :-)

Anyway, here's September's photo, followed by one taken just now:

Helen's September Progress

I was hoping to finish the border this month but didn't quite get there. I've also chosen a few more blues to add to the mix for the centre motifs - let's hope that they fit in with the current shades!

DonnaTN's Sept Progress

Above is my August photo and below is my September progress. Getting closer to the end with every month! We'll see how much closer I am to a finish at the end of October.

Tish Has a Finish!

Tish has finished Beatrix! She started her back in early 2009 and finished her in September 2010. She sent me this photo before she took her to the framer's. I'll take another picture when it is framed. The shades of green and blue are just beautiful in person and the fabric has soft shades of yellows, blues, and greens. I'll try to have the specifics when I post the framed sampler photo.

Where Sharon Stoped in August

Hi All -- still having technical problems. Here is where I left off at the end of August. She is now happily finished and at the framers.

Happy stitching to everyone,

Sharon in St. Louis

Sharon's September Finish

I'm doing the "Happy Dance." Not only did I finish this lovely sampler, as of this afternoon she is at the framer. I have had the spot on my dining room wall ready for her since January, 2009, when I put my first stitches in her.

I actually finished the sampler proper on September 10, but then got the idea in my head to personalize the piece with over-one initials of both of my sons and their brides and the years in which they were married. I finished those up last night. I had put my grandson's initials and year he was born into one of the motifs.

I have loved every stitch I put in (including those that had to be un-stitched and re-stitched ;-) !!!) and am so grateful for the encouragement from the members of this blog. I am pretty sure that without the positive comments and finishes to motivate me, she might have ended up in the un-finished project drawer.

For the record, she is stitched on 36 count Bisque by Lakeside Linens with Belle Soie Rustique as the main color and Icing as the accent (and personalization) color. I used three full skeins of Rustique and more than half of the fourth. I still have enough of the Icing left for another project.

Here she is in all of her glory at the top of this entry. I will also attempt to add a picture showing where I left off with her in August.

Well I have been posting for 21 months -- but still having technical problems. For some reason Blogger is not letting me add last month's picture. I guess that I will need to do a separte post to show that.

Best wishes to all who are still stitching away, and thanks to all for the wonderful stitch.

Shari's Finish!!

She is FINISHED!!!!!! I put the final stitches in my B. Potter piece at 8:20 pm, Thurs. Sept. 9, 2010.
I started this piece on Jan. 1, 2009. I worked on it a little bit each month. There were some months, that I only did a tiny bit. There were other months that I did a lot. As it drew near the end, I was putting LOTS of stitches in, as I could feel the finish. You all know that feeling??? You just want to keep stitching & stitching & stitching!
I tell you.....it was very hard last weekend! I wanted to stitch so bad, yet I wanted to do all of the fun things as well. I MADE myself tell myself that the fun things were more important...I WOULD get this finished this week!
Details for you....the piece is stitched on 32 ct. Tan Marble lugana from Sassy's Fabby's. It is stitched with 3 colors of floss from Victorian Motto Sampler.
My husband is going to make a frame out of oak for me for it. I would bet he will do it real soon, as he knows how proud I am of this finish. I loved every stitch that I put into it!!!!
Thanks for cheering me on thru this one!!!!! Your comments are the best!
Have a wonderful weekend & thanks for stopping by!!!!
(I took 2 pictures & couldn't decide which one to use, so you get both!)

DonnaTN's August Progress

Above is my progress as of July and below is where I am now. I made it half way through the big passion flower motif. I hope I can keep up the momentum in September.

DonnaTN

Tish's August Progress

Well, Tish emailed me her end of August photo and it won't upload. Apparently it is corrupted. So the only photo is from the end of July. She hit a bad patch and thought she was going to have to frog a bunch, but it wasn't as bad as she thought. She did get the partial motif on the bottom left finished. Next month I'll be sure to take a photo so the email doesn't mess it up. Sorry about the photo problem!

August 2010 Progress for Sharon in St. Louis

Miss B is almost finished -- finally after 20 months. I was hoping to finish her in August, but still have a little more to do on the final motif. Plus I need to decide if I am doing any other personalization on the sampler.

I have loved almost every stitch -- there were a couple of motifs that were stitched, un-stitched and re-stitched, but all things considered, I'm very glad that I decided to do this sampler. I know that I would not be as far along as I am on this project if it were not for the support of this Stitch A-Long!

Photo below shows where I left things at the end of July. I had three motifs left to do, plus planned to put my finishing year in the motif next to the swan.

Best wishes to all the Beatrix Potter stitchers.

Helen's August Progress

Well, there's hardly been any progress this month because I've been doing other stitching and knitting. I put a few stitches in over he weekend and really hope that I can get back into the swing of it next month. Top pic is July and the bottom one is the tiny progress I did on one of the motifs.

How are you all doing?

I am sorry I have been a little slack lately, My stitching mojo has gone on holiday. But I really look forward to seeing everyone progresses every month, and Remember there are a few months left of this year to get your progress pics in for my little giveaway at the end of the year, Post ten out of the twelve months to be entered.

Happy Stitching Ladies

Shari's August progress

Hi all! I decided last month that this project WOULD be done by the end of the year & I set goals for myself. I had to stitch at least 2 motifs a month, the rest of the year. Well, I did way more than that last month. (I don't remember now how many I did.) This month, I did FOUR! I only have 5 left to do & one of those is so tiny, I could do it in less than an hour & have it done yet today. But....It is further over & I don't want to count over to it & be wrong. I don't want to risk it, this close to the end!!!!!
So, I have FIVE left....wonder how many months yet?!?!!?!!

Sandy's August FINISH

I am happy dancing in Nebraska. Here she is completed. I changed the initials in the original sampler to my families. I stitched my initials and the year in the accent color. I have enjoyed stitching this and posting each month. Keep on stitching!!

DonnaTN's July Progress

Above is the June progress and below is the July progress. Almost finished 2 good sized motifs and one tiny one. Five more to go plus the initials! I might get that all done by October.

DonnaTN

Tish's July Progress

The above photo is from the end of June. Below is the progress for July. Tish had hoped to finish this month, but between illness and working on a birthday gift, she didn't quite make it. August might be the month to see her finished!

July 2010 Progress for Sharon in St. Louis

Photo above shows my tiny bit of progress for the month of July, although it seems as if I stitched that octagonal motif with the swan at least three times. I kept making silly counting errors, and spent almost as much time ripping as stitching. June's progress is shown below for comparison. Only three motifs and a little more personalization and she will be ready for the framer.

Keep up the good work stitchers.

Sharon in St. Louis

Helen's July Progress

Haven't done much over the last couple of weeks but luckily I got quite a few hours in earlier in the month. I was going to use different colours for the inside motifs but I think I've changed my mind and I'm going to stick with the blues. I just need to stock up on more skeins now!

The top photo is actually May because it's the last "full" picture of the design.

Sandy's July Progress

Here is my Bea as of June.

I have worked very hard on Bea this month. I'm on the last motif. I just couldn't get it done tonight for the finish. I will be posting a finish in a day or two.

Shari's July Progress

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I think you will see that I made a ton of progress this month.
I am on a mission now. I counted what I had left about mid month & set it in my head....ok, this CAN be done by the end of the year. I had 12 motifs left at that time. I told myself that I have 5 months left in the year. That is 2 motifs per month, with 2 extra to be done somewhere in the 5 months. Well, I kept working & now I have even less than 12. I forget.....9 more?? I can do it!!!!
I love every stitch & will be sad when it is done, yet so glad too!!!

Shari's June Progress

I know, it is early morning on the 1st of July, but I worked literally until bedtime last night. I was determined to finish TWO motifs in June & I did, but didn't feel awake enough to post it last night.
I really, really love how this piece is looking. I just really wish I had more stitching time, for all that I want to work on. I have so many projects on the go & so many more that I WANT to do!!!
So, here you are! My BP progress for the month of June.

Helen's June 2010 progress

Well, I did very little this month, mainly due to watching hour upon hour of tennis :-) I did manage to finish the lower right hand side motif, though. May progress at the top followed by a photo of the newly finished motif. Once Wimbledon's over I'm hoping to get more stitching done!
