Important - Please read.

We are very nearly ready to begin this SAL. I hope you are all ready with your floss and fabric!

Posting - Please, you can post anytime in the month after the 2nd January. If you only work on this piece for one day on the first day of every month then that is fine - just wait till the 2nd to post pictures. You must post each month's progress by the last day of the month. Only then will you be eligible for entering the draw at the end of the year. You need to post up ten progress posts - ten out of all twelve months (at least) to be entered for the draw.

A progress post must contain two images - one before and one after picture
(with the exception of January when we will not have a "before" picture. Please title your post with "Hazel's Progress" for example and use the labelling feature to label it "January's progress" "February's progress" etc... Hopefully this will keep things as simple as possible for all of us and for me in particular when listing people in the sidebar. I will leave listings to the end of the month but if you think I have missed you off then please email me and let me know. I can and very often do make mistakes unfortunately.

Please keep blog posts about the design only. If you wish to share anything else then please make use of your own blogs. This is just to keep it uncluttered and make it easier for me to to do the listings at the end of the month.

Due to the large number of participants please could you check that your name is not the same as anyone else's here. Just add your surname initials or where you're from just to distinguish you from anyone else.

Thanks for understanding. If you need any help with anything or are unsure about anything then please email me.

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone and look forward to SALing with you all next year!!

xx

BP Alphabet for personalisation

Hi everyone. Tracy has kindly charted an alphabet in the style of the sampler and is making it available free of charge so that you can personalise the sampler as you wish. If you would like a copy then please email her at:

mark.charlton@sky.com

and put "BP alphabet" in the subject so she knows it isn't junk or spam. It is very well charted and would recommend you get a copy while you can. xx

Paula Sibbald from Kelmscott Designs emailed me a while back regarding the giveaway at the end of the year for this SAL as she wanted to give something towards it. Well, today a parcel arrived at my door and I can now show you what Paula is giving away to one lucky person who gets picked:

November - CarolR

October:

November:

Not a great deal of progress for November - only the two motifs in the bottom right-hand corner. I apologise for the wrinkles - I wanted to iron it but but hubby has overtaken my kitchen area with his decorating equipment and I certainly don't want to delay him as he's been promising me that he will start the decorating since the summer!

Congratulations to those who have finished Miss Beatrix - they all look beautiful!

Julie - A finish for me too

I'd like to thank you all for the encouragement during 2009 to finish this beautiful design, my first large quaker project. I am so thrilled with how it has turned out.

Thank you Hazel for setting up the SAL and inviting me to join, i know it would still be sitting in my 'to do' pile if it had not been for the SAL blog and seeing how beautiful all the different variations are. I'm looking forward to watching all the lovely upcoming finishes too.

Jacqueline K B's November Finish!!

Above are the three motifs I stitched to complete Beatrix Potter!! Below is the finished sampler...
Thanks to Jacqueline of Needleprint for allowing those of us without the chart to obtain it; to Hazel for organizing this wonderful stitch-a-long; and to all of you who commented and offered encouragement...this was a fun ride and escape from my daily life and doldrums from the economy. I'll still be keeping track to see the progress of everyone, so keep on stitching and enjoying Beatrix! My best wishes to you all!

Hazel's October progress and finish!

Here is my finish! I worked really hard on this this month getting all the motifs completed. I went to Tracy's at the weekend who then helped me with the lettering. "HH to RH" is from me to my hubby, "LH" is for Lily, my dd, and "EH" is for Elijah, my ds. The white bits really make a difference to the overall look. I'm glad I did them. I have posted more pictures on my blog. I have really enjoyed working on this this year. Next year I will be turning my attention to the Mary Wigham sampler. :-)

Finally finished Oct 09!!

x

That makes...

28 of us who participated this month. Please check you name is on the list and as usual, please get in touch if I have made any errors and missed you off. Thanks. Only two months left! Happy stitching.

Where has the time gone!!!

Oh my goodness, it's the 4th November!! I was away at weekend and then the time has just slipped away. I apologise for the lateness of this. I will tot up names today and also post my own progress. I have actually finished BP!!

Di's September/October Progress

Yup, I'm late - finally took a photo and also (finally LOL) remembered how to add it. Here was my August photo:

And here's my progress to date:

Sandy's October Progress

I'm a day late. I took the picture last night because I went to Last Saturday Stitching at my LNS and Beatrix is what I worked on there. I couldn't post my progress because my husband was out of town with the laptop. So, hopefully it still counts. Here is where I finished in September.

In October I finished a motif on the right and started another larger one. I think I'm going to need a few more months to finish!!

Grace's October Progress

This is where I was at the end of September:

Since then I have completed the bird motif, and stitched one large and one small motif at the bottom left.

Like Sharon, there is no way this will be finished in the next couple of months, Hazel, can we extend the SAL into 2010 and make this a 2 year project? Having to post a progress picture every month definitely encourages me to stitch even if it is only a motif or 2!

Elisabeth's october progress

Hello,

In september my stitching was like that

And today this is like that:

Sorry, this a very rainy day today and my picture looks very poor :-(

Friendly, Elisabeth

Dolly's October progress

Before After

I got 2 big motifs done this month, so I don't think I could finish this sampler before the end of 2009. I will keep working on it anyway.

October Progress for Sharon in St. Louis

Hi Stitchers -- I am pleased to report some progress for October -- one small and one large motif along the right hand side of the sampler (shown in the top photo). I am definitely on the two-year plan on this lovely sampler, but enjoying every stitch that I am able to put into it.

Congratulations to those who have finished, and to everyone else, keep up the good work.

Happy stitching,

Sharon

Brenda's October Progress

The second picture is my October progress, only two motifs this month. I found the one to the right of the "Token of Love" to be a bit tricky. I think my favorite ones to stitch are the symmetrical motifs. I can hardly believe we only have two months til the end of the year, it went by so quickly!

Happy Halloween to everyone!

Redwitch's October Progress

As of September:

As of October:

This may be the tiniest amount of progress ever, it's the little brown blob if you're wondering! ;) Just two thread lengths, but I hope this post will motivate me to get going again. It's been a very busy month workwise. I have six workshops and two lectures to give next week, so hopefully after that I will be able to relax for a little while. I've loved seeing all your progress pics, some of you are really near to finishing which is really exciting! One thing I did finish this month was 'Beatrix Potter: a Life in Nature' by Linda Lear (ISBN 0713995602), it took me a while to get into but I really did enjoy it and would definately recommend it. Happy All Hallows Eve stitching! :)

Tiny bit of progress

I don't think it'll be finished this year!

October's progress

Shari's October Progress

I am not going to beat myself up this month for not doing a lot on B. Potter. I am working on it every month & enjoying every minute of it, so why beat myself up!?!!?
Were we SUPPOSE to get it finished in the year?? If so, I am in trouble, but otherwise, I will keep working as I can. I love doing MANY projects, so I don't get a lot done on my bigger projects! I am doing one that is 49 pages long!!!! Imagine how long that one will take?!?!?!
Everyone's pieces look wonderful! It amazes me how different colors make them look so different!!!

Happy stitching all

Jacqueline K B's October Progress...

Above is my September progress, while below is my October accomplishments...I managed to get three done including the swan under the tree. I plan on just pushing forward and getting Beatrix Potter finished up before the holidays. For close ups, I plan on putting them at my own blog...

Progress October

This was at the end of september,

and so you can see I had some stitching time this month. The children are going to school and than you have more hours to stitch.
Annemieke

October's progress

A very busy month has seen me not stitch much at all - and to top it all off I put in the corner motif only to find I was a stitch out on the edge. So yes - I unsewed it! Here's where I was at the end of September

and here's where I'm at now. Pathetic effort Deb!

Getting close to the end, but still seems like far to go. I'm glad I've had the SAL to keep me going or this would have ended up at the bottom of the pile I think.

See you end of November,

Deb
