Finished !!!!

I am rather late posting my September photos as I have been away but here they are at last. I must say I am very happy to have another rather large project finished. This one has been really enjoyable and a big thank you to Hazel for organizing this SAL. After a rather slow couple of months I set myself a goal to complete a certain number of motifs each month to ensure it was completed on time. However once I got back to my stitching I just had to keep going on this project and I am very happy with the result. Now it is off to the framers and I have to decide which will be the next WIP to concentrate on and to see how many projects can be finished before the end of the year.

Margie May's Progress in August

Rather early with this post of progress for August but I don't think I will have the chance to do more as some other projects are becoming a little more urgent. I am enjoying the freedom of being able to put this project down and working it whenever I have the time between others.

July Progress Margie May

Here is the photos to show the small amount of progress made. After my dear mother died on 6th July I was finally getting back to a new routine when we lost one of our precious Burmese cats Mia. Mia was always very interesting to check out what I was stitching and loved to sit under the light for extra warmth. She was a very young 17 year old and her death was so unexpected. Her sister Chloe, from the same litter, is feeling rather lost and needing extra attention. I will be really glad when this month is over!!

June Progress

As you can see there has been very little progress this month. Unfortunately I have needed to spend a lot of time with my 87 year old mother who is in hospital almost a one hour drive away. She had breast cancer 3 years ago, went through with surgery and 6 weeks of radiotherapy but now has a tumor in the stomach and problems with lymph nodes. She is so brave and has never complained and is trying to making it as easy as possible for everyone.
This small amount of stitching, 2 nights, is all I have done in 4 weeks which is most unusual as stitching is something I always turn to no matter what the mood or how I am feeling. At this stage each day with Mum is a bonus.

Margie May's May Progress

Not as much progress as I had hoped this month. Have started a Goldwork class at the Embroiderer's Guild and the homework really does have to take priority. Great to see the progress everyone is making and also interesting to see the variety of areas being worked.

A busy month so not a lot of progress. Hope to catch up a little over the next few weeks.

Margie May's Progress in March

Here is the progress I have made over the last couple of weeks. This is a project which I am finding very relaxing to stitch between lots of other WIP. The Peter Rabbit was purchased when I visited Beatrix Potter's home Hilltop in the Lakes District UK last year. I just couldn't resist him - he is so cute.

Margie May's Progress in February

It has been hard to do a lot of stitching because of the hot weather but I must admit this is the least amount of stitching I have done for a long time. The bush fires that have devastated our state seem to have left a cloud (not only of smoke) over everyone. However the amazing support from around the world has been uplifting. I do hope to progress more when autumn arrives and hopefully brings some much needed rain and cooler weather.

Margie May's Progress

It was great to start a new project for the New Year, especially one that has been in the stash for some time. I finally decided on the dark green DMC500 which is easy to purchase. Although there were a number of other threads that were tempting I was not sure if I would be able to purchase the quantities needed at the same time locally. I am now very happy with my choice and will work on the project one night per week. At this stage I have not set the day but will slot it in amongst the other projects, some I do have a deadline to meet. Unfortunately we have high temperatures coming next week so it may be too hot to stitch. I really do hate summer. Happy stitching everyone. Margie May, Melbourne, Australia
