My first post, Feb/Mar Progress

Hi

First everyone's work is great. I always enjoy looking at everybody's color choices.

This is my first progress report. I've been visited by frogs with this project. I didn't get my started until Feb. I'm using items from my stash so I started out on white 22 aida one over one. I didn't like the white so I went digging some more and come across old/antique rose 18 ct aida. This shade I really liked. I tried one over one and didn't like the coverage, so out it came I went with 2 strands.

Here you see two pics the first one really shows the great color of the fabby. I started in the corner and after just stitching a little I figured out that I hadn't left enough room. That was Feb work. I got tired of the frogs so put it away for most of March.






Over the weekend I started again, this time in the middle as seen in the second pic. I like the colors I changed to except for the red. Its the wrong family group and too strong. I'll be taking that out. I am also one row off on the outside circle so that will also have to come out.

Hopefully my April progress will show more instead of listing all my frog problems.




I'm still learning how to use my digital camera so hopefully my next pics will be better showing off the colors.

DonnaTN's Feb Progress

Here is the pitiful little bit of progress for February. I spent what little stitching time that I had this month trying to stitch a small present. I really only worked on BP today. I managed the little crown and the outline of the next motif. March will be better I hope!

Tish's Feb Progress

Here is Tish's February progress. The fabric is more yellow, but I can't seem to get a good picture. When I was at her house today it was gray with sleet that became snow. We had planned to stitch together all afternoon, but I left after about 45 minutes because of the snow. This is Memphis, TN for heaven's sake! We don't get 3 or more inches of snow very often. She probably has more done by now, but that will have to wait till March.

Now that I look at it, I took the picture side ways. It should really be up and down.

Sharon in St. Louis' February Progress

Hi All -- I am loving seeing every one's progress and gorgeous color choices. Here is how I left things at the end of January -- fairly pleased with my progress to date.




Then in early February, I encountered a lot of "reverse" stitching in the half medallion above the very large flower. Finally got going in the right direction and made a tiny bit of progress -- when my husband went into the hospital. I am happy to say that he is finally home, and on the mend as of last night. As you can see I have almost used up my first skein of Belle Soie Rustique. Can't wait to see if the second skein will have any different color variations.




I hope to make some progress in March, but one weekend of the month will be spent at a stitching retreat, and I think this lovely project is too big to bring along (as there is also a lot of chit chat and eating that is a regular part of the retreat) so I don't know what I will have to report next month. As I am almost to a part that has some initials, I am trying to decide whether to use the originals on the pattern or personalize with family. What are others' thoughts on this subject?

Allie's February Progress

And here's where I am now. It's not much to show, but I figure if I keep up with 2-3 motifs a month, I'll still finish by the end of the year! I'm being optimistic about my ability to keep the momentum going (c;

Although I haven't stitched any yet, I've decided to make this a "Mothers" sampler and include the initials of the women in my family matrilineally. The "OD to LB" will be my initials to my Mom's maiden initials (AH to KE).

Last time I asked your advice about the colours, and I have since decided to use the entire DMC linen collection, as portrayed in the first picture. I love this sampler, and your beautiful work is a real inspiration. See you in March!

Here is my progress for February…not a lot I am afraid to say, I have had a busy month with a lot of smalls to stitch, I do Not have that to do in March so I hope to make some headway.

Margie K's February progress

I didn't as much done this month as I was hoping. I had a ton of other things that I wanted to finish so Beatrix took a backseat. I still need to find some sort of schedule that works for this project because I'm determined to finish her this year. :-) I'm stitching mine on 35 count Mushroom from Vikki Clayton using Winterberried regular silk floss, one over two.

Margie May's Progress in February

It has been hard to do a lot of stitching because of the hot weather but I must admit this is the least amount of stitching I have done for a long time. The bush fires that have devastated our state seem to have left a cloud (not only of smoke) over everyone. However the amazing support from around the world has been uplifting. I do hope to progress more when autumn arrives and hopefully brings some much needed rain and cooler weather.

I started late, this is my first post. I had decided to use DMC variations 4210 instead of Crescent Colors. I am enjoying this SAL and very pleased with my progress.
