April's Re-start Progress

As you know I decided to re-start with new thread colour and same fabbie but stitching one thread over one, I haven't got loads done, but it is hard one stitching so small, thank goodness for my daylight lamp. I am not sure how much I will get done in May but I am making this my main project for the next few months to "catch up"

Thanks

Thanks for your comments on my last post.....I have worked out my spends and have decided to do it 1 over 1 so only needed a purchase a smaller peice of fabbie and have ordered some DMC's in 518 (6) and 519 (1), it is similar to Peter Rabbit's jacket on my Beatrix Potter Book Collection, I think with a smaller amount of fabbie to hold and the lighter nights making 1 over 1 a bit easier, I hope to get back on with this...I will have some catching up to do...so a hold on my smalls will be in the offing I feel. The other I will unpick at some point then use the fabbie for smaller projects so it won't be wasted.

Off away to Northumberland in the morning for a long weekend.....

Not enjoying this

I have made little progress this month, I am not enjoying stitching the peice...not for the design, it is the colours of the threads, I am not happy with them but after 5 motifs it's an awful lot to unpick and I can't afford to get another peice of fabbie. I am going to decide on a colour of thread and maybe restitch 1 over 1 as stitching over 2 the fabric is just so big and cumbersum to manage...sorry to sound negative but it is just not "doing it" for me at the moment.

Elisa's Progress

Well here is my progress on the sampler, I am really enjoying this design, I am stitching it on 32c Belfast Linen in Antique Ivory with DMC threads 3041, 3042 & 3865. I had hoped to get a little more of this done but I have ended up as usual signing up to too much lol!!

Got my chart and supplies....

OOOO I am all excited today as I got my chart from Jacqueline and I received my fabbie and threads a couple of days ago. I decided to use 3 colours, a dark heather and a mid heather and a cream colour on the antique ivory belfast linen. I may also use some beads on the peice too, but I will decide nearer the time how I feel....roll on January!!

Has anyone heard from...

Jacqueline yet about their chart, I know she was away and just wondered when she was due back...I don't want to order all my supplies and then not get my chart...

Slightly confused...

....about the fabbie and thread colours and amounts needed for this design as Barbara has commented on Rachael's just one shade of DMC plus white, but Ruth's post further down has 4 shades of DMC and beads...I was wanting to order my threads and fabbie rather soon...can anyone shed any light on this please?
Thanks

So pleased to be here!!

Hello, I am Elisa a 36 year old single mum from York, UK, I have a 4 year old DS and have a DD on the way (due mid November). I love many crafts, but cross-stitching is my passion and have been stitching since I was 14 years old. My tastes have changed dramatically over the years, I have wanted to stitch a traditional sampler for quite a few years but never found the right one for me...until now!! I have not decided on the colours yet, but I fancy stitching the sampler on a buttermilk/cream linen with a delicate sage green...something different to the usual purples and pinks I stitch in usually...lol.

Thank you Hazel for letting me join the SAL and Julie for mentioning it on your blog...I would have never known about it!
